Outcast Tape Infirmary

Lowe Cellar - TAGU

/25 on yellow cassettes

Lowe Cellar has never been just one thing. It has always been a band where anything can happen because in the creative process all is permissible. But from one release to the next, there’s always an attempt to transmute their core influences into something new.

In their most recent iteration as a three piece, they bring something new once again. Rather than careful orchestration meant to elicit a chamber setting, members Sam Leon, John Jarman, Cody Schuman and Jacob Kelly bring something spontaneous and explosive. Guitars strain and cut under the fierce bass and drum duo, pushing each other to the extreme. Voices clash and tear and then quiet to a whisper.

Drawing from bands like Cursive, mewithoutYou, Lost in the Trees, and Mount Eerie, Lowe Cellar is playing fast and hard to slow and subtle and they are doing it better than ever.
